Ask someone else. She's obviously hoping someone better will ask. She won't come right out and say "no" cuz she wants to keep you hanging on incase noone else does ask her.

Dont ask her again, she is scoping out other options and you should send the message that you will NOT be a back-up plan. January is kind of early to find a date for May or June, so why dont you wait until 4-8 weeks before prom until you ask someone to be your date

She is either waiting for someone else to ask her or she is rude. Ask someone else and don't wait for her. You don't want to be second best and you certainly don't want to be left without a date. However, I think you did jump the gun a bit. It is too soon right now because who knows how you will feel in a couple of months and you wouldn't want to have to go with someone you really don't want to be with. If the prom is in late May or June I would wait until end of Feb. or early March.

Well, in high school January is a little too soon to commit to going to the prom with someone. I would wait until April and ask her again..... maybe she is just waiting to see how serious you are.

she's waiting for someone else or she's worried you might expect and want more than just a date for the prom in the coming weeks or months up until then. peace
