Chance is an American Bulldog MIX, not just a straight-up American Bulldog.
"The film stars a Golden Retriever named Shadow, voiced by Don Ameche, a Himalayan named Sassy voiced by Sally Field, and an American Bulldog mix named Chance voiced by Michael J. Fox."
Hope I could help!

He was an American Bulldog. They do ook a lot like the american Pit Bull Terrier, as they are closely related. American Bulldogs, though, are usually mostly white, and their facial features are slightly different. I know someone who has an American Bulldog, but he insists it's a pitbull because they look so much alike.
