~~ Taxonomy is the practice and science of classification.
Originally, the term taxonomy only referred to the science of classifying living organisms (that is now known as alpha taxonomy)
~~ Taxonomy now applied in a wider, more general sense and now may refer to a classification of things, as well as to the principles underlying such a classification.

~~ Carolus Linnaeus, also known as Carl von Linné, (May 23, 1707 – January 10, 1778), was a Swedish botanist, physician and zoologist who laid the foundations for the modern scheme of nomenclature.
He is known as the "father of modern taxonomy."
He is also considered one of the fathers of modern ecology.

Linnaues was married to Sara Elisabeth Morea and had seven children, Carolus, Elisabeth, Sara Magdalena, Lovisa, Sara Christina, Johannes, Sophia.
