I cannot reset my computer to an earlier time using system restore. System restore is turned on?

If you mean System Restore won't take you back 2 weeks or whatever, i've ran into the same problem. I don't know what it is, but when that happens, everytime I find myself re-installing windows.

However, the last time it happened, my hard drive was shot. Since I installed a new hard drive, I haven't had a problem with windows or the hard drive.

In addition, it won't un-install "spyware" programs installed on your system. When that happens, you're better off re-installing windows.

Try doing a system restore after booting into Safe Mode first. Tap the F8 key as the pc is starting to boot up, enter Safe Mode, and then try going back to an earlier restore point.

Restore sets the computers functions back to a time before something happened . It does'nt set the clock back.

i think ur computer is corrupted. download avg or avast and run a virus scan and clean ur computer.
and also install a spy ware remover and a firewall

click on the beginning up menu, marvelous click on My pc and click on the properties in the drop-down menu. click on the top left hand ingredient tab that asserts equipment fix. right here is the place you will discover your answer.
