...'swear to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States...against all enemies foreign and domestic'
Phrases sound famliar? They should...every person who enters into the military uttes those very words when they are sworn...SWORN...into service. That means they have signed a binding contract breakable only if physical handicaps would prevent their further entrance or service in the military. They know the risk they took going in....that they may one day go to war. If there are any conscientous objectors..I would put them in the front wave of every assault so they would be out of the way and keep them from further degrading the integrity of their military units. There is no lower form of scum on earth than someone who pledges on their honor to undertake military servicethen try to duck that oath by saying I object to wars...what the HELL do you think a military is for? Grow up or get out of the military because I dont want self-serving scum defending me...I want people who will die to preserve my life and the lives of all 300 million of us Americans. Men and women who will not duck their vows because they are the honorable ones who do not.

the US does not use the draft(right now)all military men and women are volunteers.they knew what they were doing when they said that pledge.they knew that they might someday be called upon to shoot someone or get shot at.so why should they be any kind of objector?if u have any objections to having to pull the trigger on an enemy, then dont volunteer.
i volunteered back in 1989.yes the first war in the desert.i did my time and did not object to doing it.i guess some people may not understand what they are getting into.

This Vietnam Veteran thinks you need to lighten up. I served with a number of conscientious objectors, and they did a fine job, every one of 'em. We made medics out of 'em, and I know of one who earned the Medal of Honor! Go read about Sergeant Alvin York, a veteran of an earlier war, then come back and tell us what you learned.

particular designations like Conscientious Objector basically prepare if there's a draft. marvelous now, you're basically registering for Selective provider. If something befell and the government mandatory to reinstate the draft, you would be referred to as before a draft board and given a radical examination. at that factor, you may could grant information which you have a ethical objection to wrestle and the two could not serve in any respect or could basically provider in non-wrestle purposes. All you're doing now's putting your call on a itemizing, merely in case. Your call will come off that checklist on your mid-20's and positioned on a sparkling checklist, at which factor you heavily isn't eligible for the draft, could one ever exist. it is relatively not something you may agonize approximately, as long as you easily sign up. in case you do not sign up, you would be fined and imprisoned.

I understand it in a draft situation, especially for certain religious groups that have a long tradition of being what they are. They can serve in other ways and many have. I am talking about people with true deeply held convictions, not some guy that is just chicken or has different political views at the moment. For Quakers and others I have no problem being one of those that would take their place.

Not disgusted at all.If it goes against someone religious convictions to kill another human being, and they are drafted, they can serve the country in other ways. They are not getting out of anything. You cannot force someone to take the lives of others. It would make no sense to put a person like this in a combat situation.

If you were for instance a Quaker, that would be a legitamate religion to be a C.O. Of course Nixon was a Quaker and bombed N. Veitnam back to the stone age. Lots of non combat jobs out there.

im not afraid to die and i will kill. add 1 objecter and you get im afraid to kill and if im gonna die, im gonna take you with me.
war sucks. wars should be fought like football. like 100 soldiers per side on the play field, during offense or defense. play the game. if you lose, you dont like it, and you refuse to submit, then for starters, your team is executed as the return volley of the war.
after all, every down if watched without thinking, will leave the opinion that it was a 7 second war.
this is toungue~n~cheek, but hey it beats the heck outta politicians deciding they cant agree, then massacreing 1000,s of people, only to realize that 1 was stronger than the other and those people died to state the obvious. besides who am i to say if your morals or standard of living(excluding humane treatment of people) are not up to the new world standards.
nothing wrong with pacifist's or objecters, just remember no one goes to war to kill and or die. they go to DEFEND their country. Nice when the country doesnt bend over and leave them hanging. now defend, how about the poloticians that cant agree participate in the big game, and not as coaches or waterboys, but as lineman. ill bet they'd agree more often if the consequences were closer to home.
war is natures way of controlling the human population.(until we all get 1 step closer to humanity)

When you're trying to get your bones in combat, the last thing you want is a crying-*** CO in your squad! When you're burning ammo, you just naturally have to take down innocent people to get at the bad guys. Sure you blow them to kingdom come, strip the flesh from their quivering bones, but they're the wives and kids, sisters and brothers, uncles and aunts, mothers and fathers of TERRORISTS or at least suspected terrorists, or maybe they just lived in the wrong neighborhood or were visiting at the wrong time. Who cares. The President says its OK----that it's the right thing to do. That's good enough for me. I believe him. It's not wrong to kill terrorists and their pals, or their pals pals, or their pals, pals, pals, and I don't want no crying liberal religious nut telling me different! So the answer is that we need conscientious objectors. That way they're identified and not likely to get in the way when you're doing serious killing.

There is SOME merit to it in my opinion. Some peopl emight just find it woo hard to fight against maybe thier OWN country? Sometimes this might hinder thier combat ability, putting more people at risk..isnt thier fault we are a melting pot of many religions and ethnicities.
