I was just curious where everyone got their dog and how much did he/she cost?

Pet store, shelter, newspaper, breeder, friend, stray?

My default pics has both My Babies:) I Have a German Rottweiler which was the first one I got:) Her name is Baby Girl:) The people that had her before always beat on her:( They lived under me, I always heard her yelp and cry and I felt so bad.. I am a rotti freak they are my all time favorite dog:) So I told the girl that I wanted her and that I would buy her off of her and a couple days later she was bein all mean to her and told me that I can have he... Well my hubby paid $200.00 for her but she is priceless:) I got her when she was under a month old:( They weined her too early from her mommy:) She is 6 Mmoths now...
Then I have a American Pitbull Terrier.. My 2nd all time favorite dog:) Her name is Alazaya... My husband is in the Military and he found her on post running around:) We ended up keeping her cause we couldn't take her to the shelter cause they would automatically euthenize them:) We put signs everywhere askin if any one was missin a puppy and nobody claimed her:( So we kept her.. She is now 6 Months too.. We ot her when she was about 2-3 months old:) So she was free...
Just to say if you decide to get a pup go to the shelter and adopt ones that didnt have the chance to love before give them another chance:)

I have 4 dogs.

2 of them came from a shelter and were 50 dollars.

The other 2 we found ads in the newspaper and got them from a breeder. They were 150 dollars.

My dog that recently passed away that I had for 2 years, I got her from my home state of Texas. She was a stray. I came home with my mother one night to see that she was sitting on a doorstep. We ran to get something (chicken) and feed her and gave her water. She was dirty, matted hair, poop stuck to her bum, and my mother felt so sorry for her that she told me I could keep her, if I cleaned her up. So I did. She was my Baby.

My miniature pinshcer I adopted her from Worcester Animal Rescue League via www.petfinder.org. I really wanted a puppy, I really wanted a mininiature pinscher; however, I could not find a breeder with one nor any shelter who allowed me to adopt in the city based on my the fact I did not meet their age reqiurements. So I was about to give up my search and right before I left to go to my boyfriend's for the weekend I thought, "one last time on petfinder before I give up."

Well the last time I looked for a minature pinscher I saw this beautiful chocolate, her face was just so beautiful, and her little leg was bandaged, I just knew she was my next baby. So I sent them an email since it was closing time, and drove up to my boyfriend's. The next morining first thing timed they opened I called and I met the age requireement, drove an hour and some odd minutes and adopetd her (after being told there were applicants in front of me). I took her home that morning. She's a riot and she just got spayed 2 days ago. I paid $295 for her which is a smal fee compared to the services they provided for me. I am so greatful for them letting me adopt her (especially with people ahead of me)......I think they liked the answers on my adoption application.

Both of mine where strays we found (purebred collie and chow chow). One had be abused, the other was so thin she was almost dead.

I am a big advocate of getting pets from shelters and rescues, or possibly reputable breeder, but never pet stores.

Bailey was free (from a friend of a friend) because the people who owned her mother knew they had screwed up by not spaying her. They were happy to give all the pups away as long as it was to someone they knew or a friend of a friend. They knew darn well that they had just created another litter of mutts. NOT Pointing Labs.

Junior was $175 from Rover Rescue. He came to me up to date on all shots and neutered. I only had to get him microchipped. Rover Rescue traveled to another state to rescue Junior and a few other dogs that were scheduled for euthanasia the next day. I was happy to pay the $175. He too is just a mutt, NOT a Jack-a-Bea.

I have a 5 1/2 month old Bichonpoo. I got her from a breeder. I paid $600 for her. This included microchipping, first year exams, lifetime health guarantee, first year shots, and deworming

Petsmart. A local rescue league sets up there every week. She is the best dog, no regrets. One of the best things I've ever done. It cost $150. That covered all of her shots and getting her fixed. Rescue dogs are the best, they know what you've done for them.

Three are from breeders and two are rescues. The rescues were cheap the pure breds were quite expensive.
