I would suggest you visit Home Depot, other building materials stores, or any kitchen cabinets manufacturer' show room in your area. Take the layout of your kitchen with you. There you can get a free consultation with a kitchen designer and an fairly accurate estimate of the cost of the cabinets and hardware, with and without installation. Good luck.

Yes cabinetry is expensive almost as bad as some best appliances.

We're in the process of gutting the kitchen and replacing just about everything except the appliances, which were just replaced 3 months earlier. The total cost is going to run in the line of 30-35k. Course most of that will be going for the cabinets and counter.

It depends on several things. 1. Who is going to install your cabinets? 2. What type of material are you looking to use, MDF, or actual wood? 3. How big is your kitchen and are you going to enlarge the kitchen or reduce the area? I would consult a Certified Kitchen Designer to get help. They would be able to ask these questions, as well as budget constraints and come up with a kitchen design, usually for a fee. HD charges $100.00, but applies it to the installation of the cabinetry. Also with the designs are "property" of the designers, meaning you can't take a design from one store to a competitor, although the designer can give you a price quote. Quotes can range from $2500.00 to upwards of $20,000.00.

Cabinetry can be the most expensive part of your remodel, even WAY more than the appliances. For GOOD cabinetry, look to spend anywhere from $10,000 and up!
