I catch trout, put them in a bag, and when they are dead I cut their guts out, wash them, and put them in a hot pan with peppers, onions, butter, and a little salt.
I made that sound primitive so the catch and release people who think they are morally superior can mock me. The truth is that the average catch and release fisherman kills more trout than I do because I stop when I have either caught the legal limit for the day or have caught the fish or two I want for a fresh dinner. Catch and release fishermen often catch far more fish than I do, and a percentage of them die as a result and are wasted. If the fish population is not sufficient to allow the keeping of some fish, people should leave that body of water alone until there are enough fish to allow people to keep a few.

It depends on the situation, if I am out just for a relaxing day of fishing it is catch and release. If the day is for food then I keep the larger legal fish and release the barely legal fish to grow a little.

There is nothing wrong in keeping your catch if you intend on eating it. Remember that trout (for the most part) are stocked fish, meant to be harvested. There is someting wrong in killing
every fish you catch, stocking your freezer and not utilizing
it. If you don't intend on eating your catch, (no matter what species) you should release the fish.

I like to catch fish and the release. If I ever caught a fish big enough to keep I would think about keeping it but then I would have to scale it, ect. If I wanted fish that bad I would go to my local super market and buy whatever I can catch scale free, and boneless.

Some species of fish you are prohibited from keeping. Otherwise, if I know I will eat it, I will keep it - as long as it is big enough. If not, definitely release.

seize and launch executed properly isn't risky to any fish. i'm unlikely to lie and say that anyone fish stay to tell the tale seize and launch. Fish, whilst caught, positioned up a large combat and this builds acids of their physique. those acids could be risky or maybe deadly to a fish. The longer the combat the fewer hazard they have of surviving, fantastically for the period of warmer climate. Conservation minded anglers understand this quandary and attempt to land the fish as quickly as conceivable and make an effort to establish the fish is able in the previous liberating it to keep away from predation by using different species and with the intention that we offer the species a miles better hazard at surviving. We do what we can to guard mutually as enjoying the sport. Doing different smart could be non efficient and unsafe to our fishery. I must be trustworthy approximately this yet i think of you're dad is greater significant than purely thoughts you have for a fish or any wild life your bleeding heart cries out for. possibly it's time your heart reaches out for Dad, the guy who raised you alongside with mom. Dads are not consistently suited yet he tried to be by using giving up an element of himself on your sake. If it is not love, coach him what's. ~solid luck catchin'.

Walleye and crappie get released into a hot frying pan...all others swim away after photographing. Absolutely NOTHING tastes better than fresh fish.
