I think I have to upgrade my laptap USB to 2.0. but, is its ok that I just install a USB 2.0 CARDBUS?

BECAUSE I HAVE TO DOWNLOAD LOTS OF FILES & PICTURES. DO I HAVE TO CHANGE MY OS, COZ THE EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE (MATRIX) IS NOT COMPATIBLE TO XP BUT COMPATIBLE TO WINDOWS 2000 OR 98

Upgrade your Matrix driver. Go to the Matrix website.

To upgrade a USB port to 2.0, your only option is through the cradbus.

As far as a hard drvie not weorking on XP, but working on 2000 does not make any sense... in fact, it is not a possibility. Something is wrong. XP cau use the Windows 2000 drivers if there are no XP drivers. Otherwise, there must be some peculiar conflict.
