I really need help copying my home made VHS movies on to a DVD, if there is anyone who can tell me what am I doing wrong with this Dazzle DVD Recorder would be great.
I’ve read the instructions and bought the cords that I needed, and I can't seem to do anything with it, I have a court app in two weeks, all of my proof are on these VHS tapes.
Thank you

You need a TV Tuner card (Examples here: http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/SubCategory.asp?SubCategory=47 ).

You also need a VCR that has the RCA Output jacks in the back of it.

You plug the RCA jacks from the back of the VCR into the RCA jacks of the TV Tuner Card. Now the audio is more work. The TV Tuner card will likely have only a VIDEO input jack (one jack), it probably wont have the RED and WHITE input jacks on it.

You need to goto walmart or Radio Shack and by a cord that has Two RCA jacks on one end, and a 1/8 jack on the other (1/8 jack is the same thing thats at the end of almost all headphone jacks).

Now plug in the two RCA jacks (from that adapter cord mentioned above) and the other end into the Aux input jack of your sound card.

Ok, now you have the hardware mechanics needed to do the task. From this point, the rest is software (A program that records the feed from the input jack of the video from VCR). Most TV Tuner cards include a program that will record what it sees from the Video input jack (and it will save it as .AVI format, usually).

So after following above instructions, you should be able to record something off of the jacks, and now you have a .AVI file with the movie (recording). You can play the .AVI file at anytime by double clicking it, from My Computer, and it will launch your Windows Media Player and play it. So now you have a computer only version of it. So now, how do you actually get it on a DVD? Well you need either Nero ( http://www.nero.com ) or Roxio Creator (http://www.roxio.com ) to make a DVD. Once you tell it you want to create a movie with that file, it will convert it into the DVD media format. Otherwise, you can go a step furthur and convert it into different programs with something like Win AVI ( http://www.winavi.com ).

I can't include a step by step instruction, but try to google your question too for some other answer, google is your friend. I swear by them (sorry Yahoo I love your company, but your search engine sucks).

or you can visit and try VHS-to-DVD.com and copy your home video tapes to dvd. You can get a pretty good conversion at a reasonable price from a lot of places. But what are most of these companies lacking? Care and attention to detail! Other ways you get totally amateurish product done with domestic equipment.
