I am getting my home ready for a new puppy. What I read says more of what type of toys not to get them. This will be my first Bichon puppy. The last six years (no kids in the house any more) we had only cats. We are setting up an exercise pen in the house with a crate in it.
Now I wish to get some toys ready.

I have a 5 1/2 month old Bichonpoo (Bichon Frise & Poodle). She looks like a Black Bichon (see photo at left). She currently weighs just under 6 pounds. Her favorite toys are a stuffed duck. A Kong toy which I filled with cut up baby carrots and peanut butter. Petsmart sells a loofa toy "Bo Bo" it was on one of their commercials she loves that. I also give her Dingo Bones and a bone put out by Meaty Bone called Chewlotta. The Kong and fleece toys are most popular with her she isn't crazy about the latex toys. Just watch for holes in the fleece toys. I have only had her rip one or two they are pretty durable.

Sounds like you are prepared, with the exercise pen and the crate. A crate is saving my sanity with my current puppy, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
I don't know specifically of toys to avoid, except for rawhide, and anything small enough to be swallowed. Kong toys are cool, because you can fill them with treats which keeps the puppy entertained while you are gone. They come in puppy sizes, too. Nylabones come in even toy dog sizes, and are a good alternative to rawhide bones. Rope toys are fun; just make sure they stay in good condition and the puppy isn't pulling off strands and swallowing them. Same goes for stuffed toys. My puppy loves stuffed toys with the "grunting" squeaker. Tennis balls are fun; just get rid of them when it shows signs of wear. You can even buy small tennis balls for toy puppies at pet stores. Most pet stores sell toys especially designed for toy breed puppies, and those should be pretty safe. Try not to get toys that are too hard (raw bones and such) because they will break a young puppies' teeth.

go to pet shops and ask them, i was asking the same with my dog but what i did i got a verity of toys 4 my dog
