It has just come about.. it is hard, peas sized, tender to the touch.. does not move about. She will not let me touch it and I do not know if it is something that will simply go away? Or if it is something serious.

it is completly under the skin... nothing on the skin at all.

it can be an epidermal cyst or maybe a lypoma, which are both very common and not dangerous, but can get bigger with time. take him to his pediatrician maybe they'll excise it. or if it is a cyst it can be resolved with a simple cortisone injection

Could be a sebaceous cyst. I suggest you take her to the doctor to be on the safe side.

could be a cyst,boil...I had one behind mine when in my teens.
