This is just a thought, i have no facts to back it so please hold back the nasty comments, don't take this to heart!
Do you think the reason that our government won't do anything about the border issue is because we are in bed with the mexican government? DO you think it's possible that Bush cut a deal with Fox (while he was still in office) that if we allow mexicans to come accross the border with little resistance, that the mexican goverment would help by catching the terrorists that try to breach their border on the otherside? And the reason we haven't had another terrorist attack so far is because they are preventing them from even entering their country?
I mean it just seems odd that after 9/11 the security in this country was to be tightened up, and the borders were just left the same. And the fact Bush and Fox we're together allot.
Again this is just a thought.

By the way I am a Bush supporter, this is just one issue I had trouble agreeing with him on.

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

And I truly mean that.

I worked for state gov for 31 years. Used to tell my relatives that what they saw of politicians on tv - was the politicians on their best behavior.

I have a degree in computer technology. Agency I was with would be sent by the Governor into an agency to review their operations, recommend changes, and then we made those changes.

After 10 years, I got tired of all the meetings with Agency Directors telling me at the START of a project what I would report to the Governor and how they would make my life a living hell if I didn't.

Was in one meeting (one of my favorite) where the Director said that him and his 3 Deputy Directors were not there telling me what I would report to the Governor. That they had witnesses who would swear they were in a meeting 300 miles away. My boss, would just set there and nod in agreement with them.

An example at the federal level. Everyone "knows" that the US made Russia back down during the Cuba missile crisis, right? Not exactly. It seems the US had missiles in Greece and another country that could fire into Russia. Russia removed their missiles from Cuba and a few months later the US announced that they were removing the obsolete US missiles in Greece. Back then, the US denied it was part of a deal with Russia. Today, the US doesn't bother denying there was a deal.

Yes, Bush did cut a deal with Fox to allow the Mexicans to cross the border with little resistance from the US government. I don't necessarily think it had anything to so with helping catch terrorists though. It would be easy for an Arab terrorist to change his clothes and pretend to be Mexican if he studied the language. If anything I think the loose control of the border can lead to more crime and terrorists entering this country.

Bush and the mexican government are both curuptive. When bush talks about border patrol watching the border he's lying. I always go to Tijuana and the border patrol just lets people walk write through. And not only mexicans but middle eastern people are crossing through there too. A lot of terrorist cross through mexican borders because the coyotes who cross the immigrant make deals with the border patrol and theres never no questions asked!

Napolitano has also stated that strict border monitoring isn't yet mandatory. So it quite ought to no longer be a marvel that she stated “crossing the border illegally isn't a criminal offense.” Napolitano is referred to section B, call 1325 of the U.S. Code that states in the different case. because the former governor of a border state with Mexico, she of everyone should be painfully responsive to the rigors and tribulations Arizonans, Californians, New Mexicans and Texans have persisted. The Phoenix-metropolitan section is now the ranked because the worst and likely position to be abducted in the US, and Napolitano isn’t rankled by this scary piece of concepts? in the meanwhile, as Napolitano is ineffective as native land protection chief, she is now attempting her hand as Secretary of well being and Human amenities talking out about the swine flu challenge. perchance she will insult that away. She ought to no longer be preserving both of those jobs.

I don't think you're off base in beleiving there's some agreement made between Bush and Fox. I don't know if it was a buffer for NAFTA, an enticement to work with him and us to develope the NAU. A way to make them side with us instead of South America. Otherwise it makes not one ounce of sense. I have never seen anything this insane before. The total impotance in enforcing even basic laws. I am floored everyday by something that suddenly is ok for some people to do....yet still against the law for the rest of the citizens. Never have I ever heard our government say they "can't" do anything about something and have it be such obvious things that aren't "hard" to do. So I'm with you on that.

Absolutely, they don't want to close the border, as they are planning to do to North America what they did to Europe- one country, one economy and soon Europe will have one military. It's called the North American Union, and they want to start integrating our economies with a new monetary unit called the Amero. Check out the Trans-Texas Corridor they are planning on building- a ten lane superhighway that will go from Mexico to Canada. It is all building up to the New World Order /One World Government, which will be headed by the United Nations or something like it. Why do you think they keep talking about a "global economy"?

I wouldn't be surprised by anything that George 'good ole' boy' Bush comes up with. The day he has to walk out of the White House will be a celebration for me. He has done everything wrong and very little right. He's as smart as a box of rocks - no insult to the rocks, you understand.

We have to secure our borders - Mexican and Canadian. We cannot continue to allow illegal immigrants to enter our country and take jobs that citizens of this country should have and to live off the welfare, foodstamps and medicaid that our taxes pay. It's time to shut the borders - no matter how we do it.

The reason they don't want to secure the border is financial just like everything else. The price of fruit in this country first of all would skyrocket if they had to pay more than 2 bucks a day to have it picked! And if they wanted to stop it they just need to make a law that if you hire an illegal you go to jail for 2 years. That would cut off any opportunity for them to come here and they would stop! But if its your buddies hiring them you will be a little apprehensive on passing such a law!

We will have another terrorist attack no matter who is in office! Bush has them trying to destroy our war in Iraq right now! He is well aware when that war ends the focus is back on us! That is why he does not want to leave yet, he has three major disasters under his watch. 911 Katrina and the war in Iraq! Better to let that one stretch out than to have another!

The Plan of San Diego was drafted in a jail in Monterrey, Nuevo León in 1915. It provided for the formation of a "Liberating Army of Races and Peoples,". There would be a no-quarter race war, with summary execution of all white males over the age of sixteen. (University of Texas' Handbook of Texas Online).
At the time In Texas, popular awareness of the Plan of San Diego served as an excuse for both vigilantism and murder of Hispanics with no apparent connection to the Plan by state and local police. This pushed even more Hispanics into supporting the Plan and increased racial segregation. At least 35,000 residents of the lower Rio Grande Valley relocated to avoid the raids and the revenge that had taken on a distinctly racial nature. The primary method for this 'reconquest' is demographic. By means of legal and illegal immigration from Mexico and Central America, and by means of high birthrates among non-White Hispanics, the non-non-White Hispanic population will be reduced to a minority which can be voted out of power and influence. While nominally nonviolent this will force African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Native-Americans and European-Americans out of what will be called Aztlan. There are a few goals and principles that MEChA ascribes to, according to their founding documents (EL Plan Espiritual de Aztlán, El Plan de Santa Barbara and the Philosophy of MEChA), including the recapture of “Aztlán” or in actuality all the land Mexico lost way back in the Mexican-American War. MEChA somehow feels they are being denied land that they already live in, in a country of which they are citizens. Somehow, giving this land back to a foreign country that lost it hundreds of years ago in a war is going to make it theirs.
