The last thing I would do is send someone to the IRS for this question. With all due respect, it sounds as though you need a tax professional to assist you....big time. I strongly suggest you go to www.naea.org and find an Enrolled Agent in your area who can help you with your taxes. EA's are licensed by the United States Treasury Department and all EA's are experts in tax.

If you make under about $40,000 for the year, look for a VITA or TCE site near you - they'll do your taxes at no charge. See irs.gov for more info.
