Every man searches for God. But remember what Jesus says "Straight is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to eternal life and FEW there be that find it."
Many are searching, but only a few will truly find this treasure.

A non believer doesn't have the capacity to understand because the Holy Spirit has not awakened, or drawn them. Unfortunately, they mock Jesus Christ and all things that are good unto God because Satan is their father. Read Romans Chapter 8 for some guidance.

Is it better to be a true believer and a practitioner of ones belief or a 'mouth' who speaks ill of the children of your God and toss them away like yesterdays dishwater?
You as a practitioner of your God, are to be 'Fishers of Men', are you not? If you were given the chance to teach another, of your God, no matter the situation, is this not what you are hear for?
You will find that the biggest trouble makers are usually the ones searching the hardest! They make fun, poke jokes, laugh at you, call you names, slander your God and succeed in what they have set out to do. Prove to themselves that your God does not exist! You can do one of two things.
Be angry and bite back!
Or, you can enlighten them by proving to them that your God has given you a love that will out shine, out weigh, and out last any ugliness they can throw at you!
I am not a Christian and can not claim to be anything remotely close. But, I married one of the most wonderful Christians I know! We have been together for over 20 years and in all of that time I have seen wonders that would make your heart burn.
If you are truly upset by the stench of what some people say about your belief and your God maybe you should step back and take a look at your strength in that belief. My guy says, that God moves in mysterious ways and that your Satan will attempted to knock you down at every turn. Be strong in your faith! Smile and send up a prayer! But, my guy wanted me to tell you to 'NOT' pray for patience. Because you will probably just receive more problems to build your patience! lol
Good Luck
Blessed Be

I am a believer in something, not neccessarily the same God as you, or anyone else, but I know there is a greater power out there than us humans. When it states religion and spirituality, it states that. There are more than 1 religion, and many of them have idols other than God, or your God. Whatever their reason to be visiting this category, what does it matter? We are all entitled to hear others opinions to help us further our knowledge on our own spiritual and religious beliefs. For any Christian to be judgemental isn't very Christian at all, is it?

Because your book and your God aren't the only alternative out there and contrary to your seeming-fundamentalist belief yours isn't necessarily the RIGHT one.
The question could easily be rephrased "Why do Fundies waste their time in R&S?" Do they like to run down and start touble for non xtians?
R&S is a place for all to have a voice. Even if that's different from yours.
Blessings,

Religion is the second strongest influence upon any society. Force of arms being the first. Societal influences are, obviously, important to every individual member. When superstition begins to weigh too heavily upon the use of force of arms (warfare), or the rule of law (politics), or both, to maintain and expand its existence, the individual and freedom is threatened.
Superstitions do not stand on their own, they must be constantly reaffirmed, refreshed in the populace in order to develop and maintain the power to use arms and law and assert its authority. This is the reason that superstitions are prosyletized by adherents to the "Deity du Jour".
To curb or limit a chaotic outcome a balance must be made and sustained. Throughout history, opposition, dissent and rebellion to the dominant superstition have served as the fulcrum upon which the balance of theocracy and anarchy play teeter totter.
The oppositionalist, dissenter and rebel feel a responisbility to expand their influence as well. They must prosyletize their cause. Many non-believers will balk at the suggestion their salvos of logic statements, their controversial topics of debate and feeling of power are part of a natural consequence of superstition itself. They may claim to be smarter, stronger, more reasonable, etc.
There is diplomacy and tact in the debate of more experienced dissenters. You may not find them here.
Mostly, it is the young atheist who attacks believers instead of engaging or ignoring them. To them prosyletizing is not a waste of time, as do superstitionists. They may believe that ridicule and rudeness may change the minds of superstitionists.
Such a state of affairs has a negative, but useful purpose. The newly declared atheist is vain, proud and embarrassed. But, s/he is able to stimulate a more emotional response in the superstitionist who acts without reason. Such emotions are a catalyst to doubt.
Experienced dissenters are relatively more subtle, but obvious.
Good luck with the fun you may have countering the arguments of teething atheists, they have much to share.

Well hopefully, according to you it is to be reached by the Holy Spirit. Plus sometimes I can actually answer the questions. I spent years going to church. Even though I am an atheist I try to answers peoples questions to help them according to their personal theologies and questions about the Bible which I know the answers to because I have studied it. Plus, this is the place we post questions too, based on our own spirituality. Also, I am hoping somebody will post a question on other religions, such as Taoism, you are not the only religion you know.

Because it is a section to discuss and answer questions about religions and spirituality. There is no prerequisite that you have to believe in God to answer questions on YA. I am Buddhist, Buddhism is a religion, yet I don't believe in a God (Buddha is not a God), should I be banned by Christians?

This doesn't sound like a witnessing tool to me?! You let God worry about who will recieve the Word on good ground. Your only job is to sow righteous seed and to love the Lord your God with all your heart soul mind and strength and defend the faith with sound doctrines from the Word of God (KJV for English). Why try to run them out? Everyone has a right to ask or answer in any section here no matter what their motives as long as they remain within community standards. Fast and pray for the souls you come in contact with and let God do the rest and send someone else along to water and God will give the increase.

None of the above, to answer your question. I'm Druid so you can call me what you want, but the truth is that many of the questions in this forum (like this one) are directed toward non-Christians and we are qualified to answer many of the others here.
I'm re-terming it "Non-Christians," by the way because that what you mean. By "Non-Believer," that could be anyone of a different religious or spiritual path than yourself.

Gosh I hope you don't call yourself Christian. If you are, stop asking foolish, incendiary questions, and pray for these people. Most of us are looking for answers to the meaning of life. For Christians it all about Jesus and the gospel. For others it could be any numbers of gods or none at all. There's a spiritual battle going on and satan has blinded many to the truth. Maybe even you.
