Also, the gums are swollen around a tooth that has a big cavitiy by it, so anything that might kill an infection would be great too!

Listerine is great. If you have a problem with it burning, have a dry mouth or don't want the alcohol then I would use Crest ProHealth rinse. It kills bacteria like Listerine does without the alcohol.

***Mouthwash won't kill an infection. You will need to see your dentist for that. I would make an appointment ASAP before it gets worse and you are in more pain.

I think Listerine is the best for killing the bacteria. I can recommend that a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and warm salt water as a mouth rinse will help with inflammation and infection too.

If they re kinda swollen, I think its the build up of plaque and you cant remove that over night, you have to brush your teeth twice a day and instead of using a mouth wash, my dentist suggested, that I use warm salt water... My gums used to bleed a bit before.. but now, after that yeah, its okay....it doesnt bleed, but the gums r a bit swollen.. cant make it out tho..
If you go for a cleaning to your dentist, he will clean your teeth and use this fluroide stuff... thats meant to decrease the swelling.. visiting your dentist every 6 months, will get rid of that, I guess...

Dr. Tichenors, by far. Listerine is afraid of it. It is concentrated to 5x. It packs a punch!

YOu need to go to a dentist and it sounds like you need a really good cleaning and take better care of your teeth..You need to floss at least once a day and brush twice...But as for mouthwash..I really like OxyFresh and Closyss II both can be found at Walgreens or from you dentist or hygienist

Try Citrus or Vanilla Mint Listerine. It not as strong. It has 27% alcohol so make sure you don't swallow. LOL.

Listerine, it's the strongest compared to other brands. I would choose a flavor that isn't too strong for you.
