I haven't had a chance to speak with my doctor about this yet, but when you are going to have a second cesarean, when do they schedule it for? Right on your due date, a little before, a little after, or does it just depend on how the baby is looking and your uterus is growing?

It just depends on a number of things - baby's size, mom's health, and convenience of all involved. Most repeat Cesareans tend to be scheduled slightly before the due date (a few days to a week) and oddly, tend to be on Tuesdays. It seems as though all of my friends with scheduled sections and inductions (myself included) have had Tuesday babies. :)

Best of luck to you - and unless it's a medically necessary surgery, be sure to do your homework on VBACs so you're as well-informed as possible. Congrats on the new baby!

I was scheduled at 39 weeks, not a day earlier or later, although some doctors will schedule it for 38 weeks.

My aunt had two c-sections and they scheduled hers before her due date because they didn't want her to go into labor.

I am set for my 2nd c section for this friday so I know this all too well...... They will set you for your 2nd 1 week before your due date, as long as no signs of advanced labor. Good luck!
