You need to select a breed of dog based on several factors. Size and shedding are only two of the many factors that you need to consider. You also need to consider the energy level of the dog, your energy level, how much time you can devote to grooming the dog, how much time you can devote to exercising the dog, whether the breed is known for having "separation anxiety", and such. There is a breed selector available at purina.com that will ask you a lot of questions and then make some suggestions for breeds that may meet your family's needs. As always, you should consider adopting an "experienced" dog from a homeless pet shelter before paying a breeder for a "puppy mill" dog. Good luck!

poodle are good but it needs grooming and you could get a small dog from your local shelter and yes they do have nice dogs there. some times a dog go there because it got parted from it's family and after trying to locate the family and nothing happens they are put up for adoption and there are some that the family could not have for a number of reasons and are taken there. so go the first and take a look and go back again.good luck in finding the perfect dog for you and your family
