Look at Savitri Devi. A French woman, went to India, converted to Hinduism, tried to link Hinduism to Nazi ideology, was a neo-nazi, wrote tons of books, etc. Thought Hitler was an avatar of Shiva.

Oscar Shindler was a member of the Nazi Party. A lot of Germans were. The Nazi party wanted to make Germany a great country. It's ideals were not entirely unappealing to most Germans at the time. Hitler was not an avatar of Shiva though.
