At least there would be no guesswork involved with choosing a religion or traveling on that neverending road to find god. There would be concrete evidence that our lives, that all of human existence was just a random event, and that everything was just a coincidence. I think that would be much more soothing than becoming religious and praying to something that possibly and most likely does not even exist.

It's like how we were born. Millions of sperm. One got through to the egg. Did a god personally select that one sperm to find the egg to make an embryo? Or was it a coincidence? A random occurence? I think that believing in the random is much better than believing in god. Don't you?

Life is far too complex to have just appeared for no reason. Life does not evolve from Non-life. It's scientifically impossible. Life is a miracle and only God is capable of miracles.

No

I don't find solace in the fact that I am randomly here for no reason, to just exist, in a world that gets worse and worse. If people are just here . . . .then lets do what we want. Why be good? Be selfish, you only live once. Step on as many people as you can, you are only here by random occurrence and will soon be dead by random occurrence. Not to die and go anywhere so who cares?

No way. I live my life the way I should and I am not treated any better for it on this earth. So all this coincidence is really for nothing? I think not.

I find solace that there is no guesswork, that
I was created
I have a purpose
I am a child of the Almighty God
I try to be Christ like
I have a heavenly father who loves me
I know he exists
I was made in his image
I was loved before time (so yes to your question, God personally selected that sperm and egg)
I was beautifully made
I will go to heaven

I hope I randomly bump into you there

God Bless

It is this very thought process that has cheapened life.

When belief in God was "normal," life had meaning, and people were valuable, because they had the Imago Dei, the image of God.

Now, since evolution and natural selection are the dominant religious thought, abortion rules. Euthanasia is legal in some states and countries. Illicit sex and pornography are the rule, not the exception.

If there is no God, there are no consequences, and life is what you make it. It's all an accident anyway.

Yep, we have come a long way, and it ain't the Utopia that the humanists promised. The trail that leads to it is scattered with the dreams and feelings of the used and abused.

Aren't we proud?

no. because then you couldn't explain how we have the superior capacity to create, philosophize, etc. (and misspel)

your physical body was created by a sperm and an egg. the sperm that won the race became you. It wasn't by chance, it was by process of illimination, as the others either started later or were genetically inferior.

Your soul and spirit however, are created personally by God. God gave man a soul and a spirit. Your soul was specifically designed to work with your body, and if you think you were imperfectly designed, your mind is in the wrong place. It's like a psychological equilibrium. If you have one arm, you have to learn to think more creatively. If you're multi-talented, you need to learn how to use them properly. God is just, so don't get misconceptions.

The existence of God does not remove random chance from everything. God allows life to go on as it will, natural disasters to occur, coincidences to happen, luck to be part of life, and bad luck. He never said he was going to control every aspect of human life and earths forces. As far as your dad getting one of the millions of little sperms into one of your mothers eggs was part luck and part choice by your parents. God designed and created life life. He allows you to live it as you chose.

No, I like to believe that I'm here for a purpose,i'ts very wonderful to me that I have a God for a father, that I can go to him for help whenever I need it even when I misbehave and that someday I may actually see Him.When I think of all the good that so many people have accomplished it is a witness to me that He is real.

That's because you don't want to use your God given intelligence. And because you didn't find the truth yet. if you are a sincere seeker of truth go to harekrishnatemple.c Read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhkativedanta Prabhupada and understand the meaning of life. It's not so difficult, but you have mostly heard the so called idea of God from mental speculaters and fanatics so no wonder you are practically and atheist.

Can you throw some random computer parts into a box of molten solder, shake it around, and expect a working computer to come out? Not likely. It takes highly intelligent beings to create highly complex things. Same with the universe.

i agree with on the randomness of life. the concept of a religous god i don't accept. however there does need to be a 'creator' in the origin of life. how could a gooy glop know it need eyes to see, limbs to travel, with out a brain. how could a amobia (gooy glob) know it needed a brain without having one. something or someone interviened. but beyond that i do not believe that religions are the key.

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?
