oh yes, we buddhist find that so funny. ha ha, jewish rabbi! that real funny. get big kick. and jew synagogue too. ha ha. thank you so much for sharing the kick with ous. Ommmmm. However wouldn't you differentiate an orhodox hadisic rabbi from a modern reform rabbi. etc. well wouldn't you student of the torah and old world mythology and culture. Elaborate in another post. switched over Jews don't have any "precise of go back" as you're calling it. If there is not any Jewish ancestry the guy isn't a Jew with information from ancestry, even although they'd nicely be a Jew with information from faith conversion.

Rabbi is a Hebrew word that could, in its original sense, be used in a non-Jewish context. Jesus was called Rabbi or "Master". Synagogue is a Greek word which had a meaning which could be used in a non-Jewish context.

So, no, it isn't funny at all.

It borders redundancy, but not quite there. for people who do not know a synagogue is essentially a jewish church, it informs them of exactly what it is. However, in general conversation, most people would just say synagogue.
