If prednisone was stopped too fast, last year, will going back on and re-tapering off solve the adrenal damage

You should speak to your doctor about this.

I had to take it for my shoulder, and was advised to follow the printed regimine. But I would imagine stopping prematurely would just not work to remedy the inflammation or other issue you were taking it for in the ifrst place. I don't recall any "withdrawal" issues in the pamphlet.

Whatever did or didn't happen last year should have little impact on a subsequent treatment course this year. Again, confirm with your doctor.
