unrighteous to ever win another Just War, even against tyrants? Benjamin Franklin suggested the motto on the Great Seal of the United States of America: "Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God." Will we soon have neither?

Never mentioned Iraq. But since everyone addressed mostly Iraq, answerers are making my point: A tyrant WAS removed, who killed millions, yet cowardice says we should not have done it. A new tyrant(s) WILL take over if we weenie out now, millions more Iraqis will die, not to mention many more of us, yet cowardice says it is not a Just War. If cowardice is right, and tyranny is not involved, there has never been a war that is just, and there will never be another. If cowardice is right, and we cannot win this war, which has taken so few lives in comparison to all the others, then we could not have won any of the others either. Today all other powers pale in comparison to ours. We are the only superpower, not just one of the two or three as in days gone by. Yet cowardice says we cannot win. If this big lie is true, why are my brave "brothers" of whom I am so proud, why are they the one group of true Americans who believe that we CAN win? "The wicked flee when no one pursueth..."

I think we can definitely win a just war. Its hard to win an unjust war because even if we get power we still don't really win.

For one thing, this is not a "Just War" at all. The reasons that we went into Iraq were completely false. Now the only reason we're there is to try to keep the whole place exploding into something worse than it was before...and we failed. We would need to triple or quadruple our troop numbers there to have any real effect now. Any ideas where those resources would come from? No? Neither do I.

Your analogy doesn't make sense to me. In the verse provided, America would be considered a bold lion ... ever known America to flee anywhere? It is common in other countries to see Americans as bold and brash, correct?

Then you say we are cowardly because we do not "rebel to tyrants", yet we are always the first ones there when tyrants do arise.

So which is it? I'm a bit confused.

I think it's a war we should have never entered in the first place. We never had the will to win it to begin with. I love my country, but we're not the America we were 50 years ago.

I think we can win another just war. The problem is, Iraq is not a just war, so the point is moot.

I think it has to do with incompetence, not righteousness or cowardice.

Perhaps if more thought was put into WINNING wars, America wouldn't have such a crappy record.
