YOUR fine liquor (like tequila or bourbon) at home with a pour nozzle on it? Would it go stale, lose potency, or evaporate to where it's not good anymore?

Even a bar doesn't keep the ppour nozzles on all the time the alcohol does lose potency and eventually evaporate

In my home bar I use pourers with ball bearing in them to seal off bugs and evap problems. In my work bar, the bottles don't usually last long enough for it to be a major problem. You know when an ounce goes missing over a couple of days but it would take pretty long for an ounce to evaporate and the bottle is long gone by that time. At least at my bar. We have a very high clientele of mixed drinks. Good question though.

Personally, I'd NEVER keep liquor at home with a speed pourer or pour nozzle on it. That's bar style and designed to enable me to pour my drinks quickly and efficiently ( the ol' 3-4 count). At home, keep your bottles capped with the original tops. Alcohol evaporates more quickly than other liquids. keep 'em fairly fresh and tightly capped. They'll last for years and years.

Are you talking Jose Cuevro or Pencha Azul? Early Times or Anchor Old Potrero? Any fine liquor should be stored with a cap on. It will last for years.

Fine alcohol will only last a month at most, in my personal bar.
