I've never had quakers myself but my cousins in nevada have them! Also, I've read numerous books on parrots, even on quakers. They are known to be territorial. So if your quaker is in the same room all the time with the finch, it may think that that area is it's territory and any other birds have to leave...or else. Now, not ALL quakers are like this because all parrots have individual personalities. You can either put a lock on the other birds cage [some parrots learn to escape or break into other cages] or move one of the cages into another area. My cockatoo HATED my 'keets and one time I heard screeching from my parakeets and looked and saw my cockatoo's cage door unscrewed and she was on top of the parakeets cage [which was across the room] and she was hissing and looked very angry. Thankfully I got her off and back into her cage. I took the 'keets to my bedroom for the night. They're okay together in 'neutral' territory, like a place neither sees as their territory, but near cages? not for my parrots. So maybe that is the case.

When I wanted advice on parrots and wanted it from people who also have parrots and maybe the same problems of questions, I found these two sites. They're message boards specificly for parrot and other bird owners. They're incredible and friendly. I know a lot of them own quakers too.

I'm sure they can give you even more advise. Good luck and I hope both your birdies stay safe and happy!

Quakers are predators. Keep yours away from other birds. They are not social with any other species!! You can put their cages next to each other but NEVER let them both out together! Ours went after our friends cockatiel that we were babysitting....

Congratulations on your new new feathered buddy! My Quakers are named Kiwi, Greenley and Toby (the final is a rescue and we did not be attentive to if it exchange right into a woman or boy). Our different rescue died those days of previous age and he exchange into called Taz because of the fact he could bypass around in insane circles with excitement each time we got here into the room. of direction he could additionally attack and wreck something that he did not like besides. (pass over him with all my heart). I consistently favored the call Banshee because it does describe what they sound like whilst they are mad!
