I am 45 and have only one child left at home. I work a 40-50 hour work week, have my own home, and support myself fully. I'm not looking for someone to 'save' me, just be a companion. Where are the men at besides the bars?

Have you tried a match making club? I have a co-worker whom is extremely picky, extremely religious and darn right impossible to get along with and she found a nice guy that way. If she can find someone then anyone can! :)
When I was younger I joined Matchmakers and I had about 3 dates a week. It was a lot of fun and I met some really nice guys.

I never married or had children. After reading your question it seems you put up a gate to say I'm independent and don't need a man for many reason but fun. Your on the working and fulfilling your needs to run a household and family. Are you seriously looking or just thinking of it? I run up with professional women like you and have a hard time breaking the ice for they might let their guard down. I see where women are liberated from the man bringing home the bacon but professional women have a hard time relaxing in from of men like me. Sometime the man might not make enough money or have a power career. Many women say that doesn't matter through their mouths but has not register in their minds. Also if you have children's you were married before many nice men think twice before thinking of asking you. I'm 51 years old and I think twice before I enter a women whose been divorced. Knowing she might walk out on me. I hope this give you an idea of why nice men are hard to fine.

Tell the people that you trust; friends, co workers, family, that you think you are ready to find someone to go out with. The people you know and trust will be selective and want you to find someone special, and will be more than willing to help.

Internet....I'm 32..i met my hubby of 6 years on the net in 2000. we have been together ever since....and we have had 2 kids together!!! it works!!! just be carefull! and good luck!
