How do you think the apocalypse will start?

Will it be a slow descent until we realize "Oh snap, this is the apocalypse!" Or will it be like an instant thing like one day we're walking our dog and discussing who will be the next American Idol and the next the Earth is scorched.

I wonder about that everyday..as a matter of fact it seems as if the seasons are screwed up and unseasonal warmth and coldness at the same time.. & it feels as if the sun has gotten alot closer..you can tell by the amout of light its putting off..more than normal..but honestly i think its happening now..i just hope im very old when and if it occurs..

If the apocalypse were to happen within the next century, and if there is an apocalypse, it will be caused by the depletion of oil. Practically everything we have is made from oil. It is generally accepted that oil will run out within the next 35 years. Governments know that whoever controls the oil, controls the future, and this is the real reason for the US interest in the Middle East.

It is not the US only who is vying for oil. China, within the next few years, will be using as much oil as the US. The rapid depletion of oil and the corresponding high prices that will have to be paid for oil products will lead to a rush to get the remaining oil reserves. It is estimated that approximately 60% of the world's reserves are in the Middle East with Saudi Arabia and Iraq having the most.

Until the late 1800s, the population of the world had never gone over one billion. Because of oil, it is now six billion and growing. When oil begins to run out, that population will have to shrink drastically. Some estimate that without oil there will be about 250,000 people. Some say as many as two billion. But even with the optimistic view, four billion will die.

Under these circumstances, whoever owns the oil owns the future. If there is going to be an apocalypse, it will be for this reason.

sigh these people are sad.... "are you reading the papers it's happening now!" ahhhh scary stuff dude. Sheesh it gets alittle warmer, and some cloth heads get shot and it's the end of the world. Don't these people read history books? hasnt this sort of thing happened countless of times throughout human history? we are ALWAYS at war, there are ALWAYS enviromental disasters ok global warming is a new thing, and might make things rather tricky for us in the future but no one is sudgesting that it will end the world. We survived an ice age when all we had was sticks and sharp stones I think we can do it again now.

Maybe the Apocalypse is already starting as a result of our own selfish actions. Even I am guilty. Go to work eat my food without a second thought. Drive my car know the damage it does throwing out my garbage too help fill the dump..... Please don't confuse the apocalypse as the wrath of God, I believe it is the wrath of our own making....

Its started already but the events surrounding the impending attack on Iran and the actual attack are likely to make you sit up and take notice. Hubris will have its way again.
