That depends on your relationship to/with him.

In most cases, cologne or after-shave is usually well-received.

If he's a cowboy (or wannabe), a hat or belt or "belt accessory" (like a giant "Western" buckle) is a safe buy.

Ditto for shoes and/or boots.

A necktie and/or a dress shirt is always a great gift within the family or ... in the case of a romantic relationship ... if the romantic relationship has advanced sufficiently to make such intimate gifts appropriate.

If he's a reader, a book on a topic in which he is avidly interested is almost impossible to beat.

anything to remind him of you. a picture frame with a picture of you two together. a pair of gloves. don't get him money, that is very un-personal.
