What should we think of religion? Religion is sometimes the reason for Earth's problems (war, discrimination, etc..) If religion would be as good as it is supposed to be then why does it bring problems. As I have often heard: Religion keeps people from being open minded. Once again I am lost... What to think??

I think blaming religion for the world's problems is a lot like like how Hitler blamed the Jews for Germany's problems. The world belongs to all mankind and it is a problem for us all. The lack of an open mind is not unique to religious people, that is just ignorance.

Which religion? There are many. Really it all depends on the religion. There are some I think are good and then there are some I hate with a passion and wish never existed because of all the evil they've done.

I feel that religion was created by man to proclaim that he/she speaks the words of GOD. I have nothing against religious faiths only when they push their beliefs onto others and state they are more righteous then the next. If you need security and place where you feel you belong then good for you.
I feel Religion today has really lost the plot and often mock the word of GOD. You don’t need to go to church or temple or whatever to believe or worship GOD; he should be in your hearts, mind and soul.
After all isn’t the main theme in religion is to believe in a creator or GOD and doesn’t some religion believe in the same GOD. So why so much bickering, that is where MAN come into play.
Nor do I think that GOD would allow or permit the killing and slaughter of the innocent in his name. I think this is the worst crime you can commit against GOD.
If you chose to believe in GOD, know that he created us all so in a sense we are all brothers & sisters with a purpose in Life. That purpose is to prove ourselves worthy of the gift of GOD, Eternally Life. What people fail to see is that from the time we are born on this earth we are blessed – yes we all blessed with the opportunity of eternally life and the only thing GOD ask of you is for you to acknowledge, and respect the things he has created. And that includes yourself and everything around you.
Today religion tells you if you confess all your sins then you can go to heaven – Do you think it’s really that easy? I feel that the evolutionary version that we evolved to defeat and overcome the weaker species and mentality of today religious faiths is what’s really wrong and cause of the world problems.
I am not a religious person nor is it my intention to sway your spiritual beliefs – you will need to take that journey on your own, once you’re there you will know the true meaning of having faith. Base on what I’ve learnt and experienced over my life time and I only use the bible as a guide – I choose to believe in a Creator or GOD. And if we all live as GOD intended us to, I truly believe there won’t be any problem in this world. Take a step back my brothers & sisters and see what you do to yourself and to others – the world will be a better place once we realize they only way is GOD’s way and NOT man’s way. Live your life as GOD intended cause live and lived backwards is just unthinkable – why not write live & lived backwards and see what you get.
Believe in GOD and not in man’s religion. I once read a passage that said ‘why believe in man words, for who is man but a breath of dust from this earth. Lets all prayer for more tolerance and peace among our brother and sisters, let our difference enrich our live instead of tearing our apart.

Some people are religious but have no Savior. I rather be called a christian than to be call religious because a lot of religious people just go to church to look good and then go out and sin all week. Christians do sin just as much as any human. But religion can very nice. Having Jesus in my heart makes me happy. If others don't want that, it is their choice.

you know it's so crazy because religion is just one of many different aspects to life but to some people they either fail to realize or they forget about that and to them it's their whole life as some people can go on and on and on about their religion and religious beliefs

Religion can cause problems, and it can do enormous good. It all depends on whether religious people are motivated by love or by fear. There are plenty of open-minded religious people. I'm one.

I think you hit it on the head about religion. People use religion to help explain the unknown, they use it to give them hope when all seems lost. they also use it to do things (war, discrimination) that they would normally wouldn't be able to do with out the religion excuse. We live in a country that was built on freedom, but religion brainwashes children to obey otherswise they'd burn in hell.

religion in my opinion can give people hope for a better tomarrow and hope for humanity but it can also blind people to the truth if they get to carried away with it. it has its good points and its bad.

religion is good, people are bad. People want power and will use any means to get it whether by religion, politics, economics, etc.
