you are one of the people here that i can understand and would probably get along with. it's those other christians you mentioned (the ignorant, arrogant, fools you mentioned) that have spoiled the name of christianity on this forum. the same way that a few ignorant atheists make the rest of us seem the same way.
one bad apple spoils the bunch i guess

The mean, nasty, arrogant, self righteous pastor I ran into WAS a born again, Bible believing Christian who spoke in tongues & moved in the prophetic.
He publicly humiliated me by announcing, while I wasn't there, that I was dividing his church in two & had a divisive spirit. He also personally called all my friends & told them to sever ties with me & no longer speak to me.
Lastly, he went to my roommate who then told me I had 2 weeks to move out or I'd find my bags packed & on the front porch.
I don't hate him, but I'm no longer Christian, either.
I turned Orthodox Jewish for 6 years, until I became what I am today.

I don't hate christians. What I don't like is how they want to impose their beliefs into our government. If they want to believe and live a certain way that is fine. But some do not feel the way they do and do not want the laws of the bible imposed on every American. Also some christians, or people POSING as christians, are just waaay out there and deserve to be ridiculed.

Taylor: You must realize, that people try to change one another to his or her religious views. Some Christians (when unasked) use their religion to try and convert others; whereas, some atheists use their religion of intellectualism to convert Christians to their views. On-going tug-of-war ! Because people are human, they will be behaving very carnal [natural-minded] at times. The tendency is to become self-righteous, smug, and closed-minded. This type of battle has been going on since creation of mankind. People must learn that he or she can not change other people and can only change him or her self. Also; there are people on this Y.A. site, who like to push peoples' "buttons" and stir-up controversy. These people are in general, very uneducated and emotionally, immature. Not everyone "hates Christians" ! Mother Teresa for one, was very well appreciated and liked by thousands of who she devoted her entire adult life to. Of course, there are hundreds of thousands of Christians in society, who do serve and attend to the needs of others, volunteering daily to meet these needs. The same can be said of atheists and agnostics too ... I'm sure.

Does everyone hate Christians? (Note the initial capital.) I for one do not hate Christians, and I'm sure there are a great many more like me. Are you feeling a bit persecuted?

the Crusades, the Spanish inquisition, the BUrning Times, the Salem Witch tirals, are past examples of Christian extreemism.
as for today
they try to force their religious beliefs into law.
they litter my front door and viehicle with their propeganda.
they oppose medical research that can and does save lives.
they hide child sex offenders in their clergy.
they expect everyone to respect them and their beliefs but they refuse to respect the beliefs and cultures of anyone else (ask any Native American or Pagan)
do i need to go on?

True. If one wants to understand the actual Truth of what Christ said they should read the actual New Testament before King Constantine misconstrued so many things. Go to gospelofthenazirenes. Get the facts so we can follow the True teachings of Christ. Not some man made religion.

that's the point isn't it? Christianity was started by Jesus' teachings. Jesus foretold that all those who choose to be his followers WILL be hated by the world, because the world has hated Jesus before the world hated us. Plus the fact that the ruler of this worldly system is Satan the Devil, who is the chief enemy of God & Jesus.

Perhaps since those "nasty, arrogant, self rightious people " SIGNIFICANTLY outnumber "real" christians, your interpretation of what it is to be christian is wrong.

The idea that they assume that jesus is the only messiah worth following is arrogant enough to deserve the hate they recieve.
