Be careful about getting involved like this. The girl has to make up her mind to leave this guy. If you make her feel pressured, or she leaves him before she is ready, she might get together with you and start wondering "What if things had have worked out" with the ex.
Not good to chase people in relationships- at least one person usually gets hurt. He probably is a jerk, but maybe he isn't that much of a jerk to her, maybe he loves her. A lot of your dislike for him probably comes from jealousy. In all, it doesn't seem fair to hold a grudge against a guy who's girlfriend you are thinking of stealing ;-)
Let her know you like her, that you're a good guy and treat her with respect. If she wants to stick with the jerk, then she's making her decision clear. Maybe she'll realise what she's missing with you. Whatever happens, it has to be her decision.
Hope this can be resolved without anyone getting hurt.

Ther's not much that you could do to win a girl over from a pretty boy the fact their objective is to fill every womans dreams and bring even their wildest fantasies to life , but as a female you could try to get to know her, find out what she like, find out every thing about her find her weakness and manipulate her. Use it against her in a respectable way. A lil bad boy mixed with a little charming usually sweeps a girl off her feet.

I would say don't chase after her. Be a nice guy that she can talk to, lend an ear to. Let her jerk of a boyfriend screw things up (which he probably will) and be there for her when he does. Although, I will caution you to being the "rebound guy". I heard those things don't work out very often, and if they do, they don't work out as expected. Though, one never knows.

Think about it man, what if you have a great relationship with the woman of your dreams one day and some guy dislikes you. So, this guy decides to sweep your lady off of her feet. Isn't that what you are planning on doing right now? Terrible man, that is despicable

you know i went through the same situation with two of my previous boyfriends....i was dating one guy and the other one had a "huge" crush on me...eventually the crusher won over. He was so sweet and treated me so good. Like i was the most beautiful girl in the world and he only had eyes for me...let her know you like her through a mutual friend but don't be pushy...then just be nice to her...sweet...that's all i can tell ya
