The truth is: NOTHING will fully prevent split ends. The fact you have split ends doesn't mean your hair is damaged, it means your hair has grown and needs another trim: EVERYONE has and gets split ends. Even celebrities, they use hair extensions and a bunch of expensive products, as well as getting frequent haircuts. The only thing you can do is prevent the APPEARANCE of them, and avoid colouring, dying, highlighting, blowdrying, straightening, and too much sun, saltwater, or chlorine. All these things will slowly destroy the hair follicle and damage the hair. Schwarzkopf Professional "Ends Express" is a really, really good product... it's a bit pricey but it's the only thing I've found that actually seals the ends. Beautiful smooth hair... and one pump of the stuff is enough for one use, even though it comes in a big bottle... I found that single pump stayed in my hair for around 3 days, even after a double wash and condition in between! Is that value for money or what? Should be available at hairdressing salons in your area.

I don't know about split ends, but the best conditioner I have used is Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Orange Ginger shampoo and conditioner. It did wonders for my hair.

Drench your hair in olive oil and then put on a plastic shower cap and a stocking cap and leave it on for 1/2 hour to an hour. Wash several times to get all the oil out and then use your usual conditioner. Makes you hair soft and silky just like a baby's hair.

Redken-"So Soft" ..... and Dove conditioner is pretty good too! I have long hair and it really dries out in the winter-I alternate between the two!
