Did the kennel feed him the same food as you did at home. If they feed him a different brand of food than you did, this can cause an irritated intestinal tract. We go through this when I can't get the regular pet food I buy and need to get another flavor or brand. Are they on the same water supply as your are, a different water supply can cause the same problem. Did you get your dog vaccinated for kennel cough, parvo, and all the other shots before going to the kennel. Some have minimal shot requirements, others are a lot stricter. If the answer to these questions is no, then time to seek the advise of your vet. Your dog could have picked up a virus just like we humans do from being around others. You should be able to call and present the vet with his symptoms and recent stay at the kennel and they'll advise you on what to do. Also, call the kennel and ask them if anyone else has been experiencing the same problem. Good luck, hope he feels better soon.

Akitas are very sensitive dogs and really most do not do well in kennel settings. They are very owner oreinted dogs and they can get upset when kenneled with a bunch of dogs.
Your pet may have been neing fed something different from his normal diet and that can cause digestive upset.
I would call your vet and have the dog seen as many things can cause these type of problems and there are many dog viruses that can be picked up in kennel settings.

Has he ever been boarded before? If he hasn't, he may not have eaten the way he normally does, or maybe very little, which could make him sick. If he is use to being boarded, and that is unusual for him, I would definitely consult a vet and ask his opinion. I love Akita's personality's, they are great dogs, and just to make sure everything is alright, I would have him checked out! Good luck .

I had my dog in a kennel for 2 days because I went out of town my dog got diarrhea also. I forgot to bring her own food for them to give her, so they gave her a different brand of dog food. Dogs have sensitive stomachs so they will get diarrhea when you change their diet. Make sure your dog is drinking enough water.
