If I scaned pics from a scanner to my computer how do I convert them to JPEG from a format other than GIF?

Tere are software out there to convert any many image type at your wish.

You can convert just about any picture format to another. Just need the right software.

Depending on the format, you may be able to use MS Paint to convert the picture.

There are also many freeware/shareware programs that you can use to convert image formats. Irfanview is free or you can check download.com for other converting tools.

Oh yeah, when you scan a picture, it should also give you an option on the ouput format. Choose JPG from the list.

Open picture with the Paint application on your pc and resave the picture, when you are prompted to choose a name and format change the format to the one of your choice. Which would be JPEG.

You scanner utility should give you the option to save the images as Jpeg.

Open the photos with something like Microsoft Photo Editor. This will let you save the original file to a different format.

Open them in any graphics program & do a File, "Save As", specifying .jpg as the file type......

There are a number of very good free programs to choose from.....I use Irfanview for a lot of those quick changes.....

You can use Paint. (This assumes you are using Microsoft Windows - you haven't specified which OS you are using).

File - save as type.
