I live in Sacramento, and I bought it in Orlando, but I didn't realize that they didn't take off this magnetic tag thing...those stupid workers...so how can I take it off myself? I tried really hard but I couldn't pull it off, and I might have to cut around it, which isn't good cuz it cost $70

As far as I know, there is not a way to take it off yourself. Since you can't take it back to the store, you could see if there is a store in your area that would let you bring the sweater in and use their removal device. Or if the store you bought it at is a chain, then you could find the nearest one and take it to them.

Good luck though.

Edit: I decided to try to read up on this. There are a lot of message boards out there on this subject. Do you know if the security tag is one of the ink ones? There was one post where they put the garment in the freezer, then wrapped Saran Wrap around the tag, and broke it with a hammer. But not all ink freezes. If yours isn't one of those ink ones, then you might just be able to smash it with a hammer. There were way too many sites to list here, but type "Removing Store Security Tag" and you should be able to find something that works.

If you purchased it from say JC Penney..........they are all over the United States(it's just an example, don't go off on me) you could call the local one and explain the situation. If you have the receipt or credit card billing showing the purchase, I think they would be happy to take it off. If not, try calling the business that sold you the sweater, explain, and ask what they might like to do to fix the situation. They should have proof of purchase and would be happy to help.

If you live near a store of the same chain, take the sweater with your receipt and ask someone at the store to remove it. If there's no similar store available, try a pair of pliers, or take it to a store where you do a lot of business, and which uses the same gizmo; in all cases, be SURE to take your receipt with you so nobody gets the wrong idea!

you can't take it off yourself. is it a store that's also in sacramento? if so, take the sweater and your receipt to the location nearest you. if you don't have that store, take it to any department store with your receipt and explain the situation to them - they should be able to help you. just as long as you have your receipt.
