I was wondering how many days do you have to wash your tattoo twice a day before you don't have to wash it at all (aside from y'know, showering).

There's no exact day. Think of it like a cut or a burn. It's going to scab up, then heal, and eventually the scabs will come off. It's best to wash it well twice a day, more if you get dirt on it, until the scabbing is done. Don't scrub it to much and try not to scratch at all. If you peel the scabs off by being ruff with it you run the risk of scarring and then your tat will look messed up.

Use light coats of neosporin to speed this all up. Depending on size you should probably figure on a week or so. The bigger it is the longer it will take. Also, if your artist pressed real hard it will take a little longer.

I just washed my tattoos for about a week and a half. But that was because they started to itch and it was very soothing having someone else wash my back :D. Mine was in the middle of my back so I couldn't reach it. But I when I first got it, I washed it twice a day for 2-3 days, then switched to once a day. Good luck!

I'm all inked up. What works best for me:

wash the tat thoroughly with soap and cold water 3-4 times a day and put a THIN coat of neosporin on it. Do this first 3 days. After that, just apply a non-scented skin lotion throughout the day until it's healed. Don't let it dry out

About a week. You don't need to wash it once it has stopped peeling and is healed up. Keep your ointment on it during all that time. If you are diabetic or heal slowly it may take a little longer.

Mine have healed completely in about 7 days.

Slow down! First of all, if the tattoo is new.......dont wash it like you normally wash. Just use your hand and lightly rub over it.
If the tattoo is new, you should keep A&D ointment on it until the dry skin/scabbing is completely gone (5 to 7 days). DO NOT peel this off.....it falls off by itself. Use just enough A&D to where it feels 'tacky'.

I would recommend washing it with the anti bacterial soap for at least 5-6 days, then you can just shower normal, but dont scrub it or anything, You going to want to baby it for at least 2-3 weeks.
Dont soak it either in the bath for at least 3 weeks.

Make sure your using Non alcohol and Fragrance Free lotion

You should keep it clean and put neosporin on it after you have cleaned it. Some people keep it covered with a no-stick telfla bandage to keep dust and dirt out. You should give it a week and a half for healing time.

I am no expert OK but I do know your not suppose to wash it for several days but you are suppose to put vasiline on it and deffinately dont pick the scab off because it takes the ink out and messes up the coloring.
