It's probably something you're eating that's disagreeing with your system. For example, you could be lactose intolerant, in which case you should eliminate dairy products from your diet with the exception of yogurt. Some foods just cause more gas than others, like broccoli or onions.

You could try taking a multi-B vitamin, adding ginger to you food, or taking charcoal capsules (you should be able to find them in the vitamin aisle). You might be eating too many carbs or you added too much fiber to your diet too quickly. If you're female, it could also be hormonal.

Also, if you recently had a course of antibiotics (within the last six months or so), you might benefit from eating yogurt or taking acidophilus tablets to balance the healthy organisms in your intestines, which is a good idea regardless. If the problem lasts a long time, you probably should speak to your doctor to make sure there's no physical problem.

Good luck.

You are not on a healthy diet--no matter what any label on the food products you're consuming state.

In general: EAT REAL, FRESH, ORGANIC (as much as possible) food. Good protein: chicken, fish, turkey, lamb, buffalo, venison, ostrich. Lots of dark, leafy green and other veggies, 1-2 pieces of fruit/day AFTER a meal, drink good quality spring water. Snack on sunflower and pumpkin seeds, macadamia nuts, walnuts, brazil nuts.

Avoid like the plague: all sugar, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, all white flour products, all refined and processed foods, caffeine, carbonated beverages, vinegar and other fermented foods (soy sauce, etc.).

Occasional flatulence is not a problem. If you produce gas on a regular basis, it can mean that the food is fermenting in the intestines (not desirable or, in the long run healthy), you are not digesting and/or absorbing your food properly, and/or you have an imbalance/deficiency of healthy intestinal flora (good bacteria). As a result of a B.A.D. (Basic American Diet), these problems are all too common but are an indication of improperly functioning digestion--which can lead to a multitude of other serious health problems occuring later in life.

If you are truly serious about your health and are not just looking for a "quick fix", the best thing to do is seek out the advice of a nutritionally-oriented MD, naturopathic physician or clinical nutritionist. Get checked for food allergies/sensitivities, yeast problem (candida albicans overgrowth) and parasites. (90% of the population is walking around with some of these nasty little creatures in their systems, i.e., giardia, amoebas, worms, cryptosporidium, etc.). Don't worry--a qualified, informed health care practitioner will know how to deal with them. The problem is in finding someone who's really on top of things. Sometimes medication is required. Often herbs and homeopathics can solve the problem. Have the practitioner place you on an appropriate diet, quality supplements and a very good intestinal flora product. A thorough intestinal detox/cleansing protocol along with possible colon hydrotherapy can be very helpful--when done under the correct professional guidance.

Your body is telling you something. It's wise to listen and take action in order to feel better and possibly prevent serious disease problems down the road. An optimally functioning digestive track is essential to achieving and maintaining excellent health. Good effort and discipline is required and well worth the energy.

Good luck and best of health to you. Some good sources for info are listed below.

Try eating yogurt with live lactobacillus cultures every day. You can treat it like medicine and just hold your nose and eat a teaspoon a day if you don't like yogurt. Two brands with live cultures are Continental and Yoplait (amazingly). I know you said you had eaten some Yoplait yogurt but you have to eat some every day, especially if you've been taking antibiotics. Hope this helps -- I know it can't hurt!

Farts smell? Really? I didn't know that.lol. Farts, unfortunately, do stink in varying degrees, from the silent but deadly variety, to...well it depends on what you've been eating. I don't think you need to worry.

Maybe you can take Beano or tums that might help. Also you might need to use the restroom to try going poop and if you can't you might be consipated. If you think you might be take some laxitive after talking to your doctor.

Have a little fun. Fart in a elevator and watch the expressions. Fart while you're standing in line at the store. Fart while you're driving with friends, and keep the windows UP. If your family has a sense of humor, fart at the dinner table, YOU won't go hungry.
