to me this scripture is talking about 2 different people (God & His Son, Jesus Christ). God has given His Son, Jesus Christ is rule as king (since 1914) and will do this until the 1,000 year reign is over. Then after the 1,000 years, Jesus will hand over the rulership of the heavenly kingdom to his Heavenly Father.
The 1,000 year reign will take place after Armaggedon.

Ok, you will have to understand the Trinity that's why you've been getting a lot of that.
It's talking about death. Up until Christ, everything was under the feet of death (things die) except God of course, well, when Christ rose from the dead, possible only by God, Death was placed under Christ's feet, and since God placed death under Christ (Jesus greater than death) that keeps God on top. That's the simplest way I could explain it. You'll have to read it over a couple of times. I would give you a better answer but I'm at work and didn't bring my Bible with me. Like I said, you would have to understand the Trinity. Good Luck I hope I helped.
Remeber, God is not the author of confusion. Just pray or ask like you've done when you are confused. And don't stop until you understand and are satisfied. God Bless. :o)

not to be offesnive, but come on, this is not a hard question. ata ll.
obviously you've never heard of the TRINITY. God exists in 3 persons, but that in itself is hard to explain. God the Father (Jehovah), God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. They are not seperate, nor are they relatives of some kind. Christ is God's Son in nature, as well as in the physical, as Christ was actually born of a God-created sperm and Mary's egg; we all know what Christ did. The Holy Spirit is the part of God that "quickens your spirit", heightens your conscious, comforts, calls people unto him, councils, etc. He is currently on earth in people (Ghost aspect), as he resides along side your own spirit. Jehovah is the part of God that is most apparent in the Old Testament, as "The Lord over Israel", "Jehovah Jireh", "God the Judge" etc. However, no mention of God the Father leaving Heaven is mentioned in Scripture and judging is now Christ's responsibilty. He is also the only member of the Godhead that knows when the "Gathering/the Rapture" will take place.
and it's not that confusing once the Holy Spirit is leading you. as "He will guide you into all truth".

I'll try. Since we were made in God's image, I'll explain it through our understanding of us. What you THINK controls of our existence. It controls how we feel, it's the birthplace of words, and the birthplace of our actions. Neither cannot happen until we THINK it. When we speak, we are expressing ourself, it's our THINKING that the hearer is acknowledging. When we perform an action, it our THINKING that is doing the action.
God is like our THINKING. He controls everything as is over everything. Jesus is like the action. We see his action in the Gospels, and understand God through his example. The Spirit is like our words, it speaks to us. The Bible was written as men were carried away by the Spirit. Just like us, these things are a way to express the Highest being.
In this scripture, God is stating that he (the THINKING) is over the actions - Jesus (as it is with us). Since God is perfect, then the actions and the words are pefect, because only perfection can bring about perfection.
In this scripture God is using his ability of ACTION/Jesus to take everything under control. But he's making it clear that the ACTION/Jesus can never take control of God/THINKING (much like our actions can't overtake and control us). Once that is done, everything will be under the control of God, just like Jesus (the ACTION) is.

The way I understand it has to do with the nature of the word "God". Just as there is one "mankind", there is more than one human. Jesus is god and man. As a man, he was, I believe a man of faith. As god he was divine. Don't know if that sheds any light and will probably get a lot thumbs down, but that's how I understand it.

Paul is speaking in this Scripture. He is referring to Psalm 8:6. This is referring to after the plan of Salvation is done. i.e. Jesus dying on the cross and being raised from the dead.
In the future, still our future too, all of God's enemies will be dealt with. If you read all of chapter 15 you will find that Paul is teaching the Corinthians (and us) that sin came through man (Adam) and Jesus came to fix it. As Adam was the first man (but capable of sin) Jesus is the second Adam, who did not sin, so life is in Him.
As God's plan rolls out, Jesus, who being sinless and conquored death because of that, (Adam brought it into the world - see Genesis 1 - 3), death itself will die.
Jesus is Lord of all, Prince of Peace, God with us, wonderful Counsellor, and God, His Father has given Him everything, including what the devil stole from Adam. (Remember satan offered it to Jesus in the wilderness?)
So, it means that Jesus rules over everything in the created universe. God - Jesus - the Holy Spirit - the Three In One God - equal.

Because of people who think they can save a spot!
Let me explain, consider all the universe is made of matter... yes??? Not at all science has shown that when it is broken down it dissipates into pure energy... ALL the same stuff.
To understand this passage consider in time past the words they had to work with.... Christ realised he is part of ALL and ALL is part of him! those who know and understand will be placed before those who don't.

reply to previous answer: So, except for the words of Paul we can trust the words in the rest of the bible as the words of God....???
Ok, It is not up to us to understand the deep things of the bible = the word of God.
I would say it is ALSO not up to us to understand the deep things of the lord of the rings trilogy.....
but if you really want to learn about the history of hobbits or the mines of gondor go ahead.
To answer, How about - God didnt record the words in the bible.
????
sigh.
though maybe his capricious nature helped put in some of the contradictions found throughout the book....
