Contrary to what most people think dogs have incredible memories. Dogs have feelings, love, fear, pain, etc., they also remember these feelings. An example of fear would be a dog afraid of baths, loud noises, and being hit. An example of pain would be shots at vet, cut on paw, bite by another animal. They remember these things that happen to them and that is why they exhibit signs of pain or fear.
Well the same goes for love, if you have shown your pet love that is imprinted in their mind and they will definitely not only remember you, but they will definitely be happy to see you again.
Dogs may put you in the back of their memory while your not around, meaning that you might not be on their mind daily, but your in their heart, and a heart never forgets.
I don't know your situation on why you haven't seen your dog. But your question shows you really care alot about her, I hope you get to be with her again.
Question?
If you have ever visited someone who you haven't seen in a while(like a family member) and they have a dog that you paid attention to, does that dog seem to welcome you back ?

I think if the dog doesn't see you enough to really recognise you then they do forget who you are. My friend laci had two dogs before that i would see almost every day. I was like their best friend because they were stinky so most people wouldn't play with them, even my friend. After we started college i went almost a year without seeing these dogs, but as soon as i showes up at their house, they remembered me, and got very excited. And now my friend has 5 dachshunds that i will see for a few days, then go a few months without seeing and we have to go through that whole introduction thing again. In the same cases with other dogs the same things have happened So, I THINK, if it is a good storng memory then they remember. But if not then i think they forget, at least for a little while. But this is just from my experiences. But if you had a strong bond with her, after 7 months i would imagine she would remember, and be excited to see you.

Your dog will remember your dad! Don't worry! My family and I own 3 dogs. We took a 2 month vacation over the summer, while our dogs stayed at a friends house. Anyways. when we came home, our dogs were so excited! They didn't forget us at all. They were thrilled! Dogs have a strong sense of smell. They will remember. Good Luck and Happy Holidays!

I believe dogs can forget but it takes a long time. If you were her master and she was devoted to you, she will not have forgotten you and will be very excited to see you. My dog still remembers the person who owned her for a month before they gave her to me. She was the first person to have shown kindness to my dog and although she remembers the women and will go to her, she only stays a minute before coming back to me as if to say hi.

I think she'll remember you. My sister went away for a year and our dog remembered her when she came back. As soon as the dog heard my sister's voice, she ran from the other room and didn't leave my sister's side for days. Also, while my sister was away, the dog would look for her in places where she used to be and would sleep in her room often.

Dogs don't forget because they don't have sense of time. One minute, one year lasts just the same to them.
One of my rescue dogs came back to me after 8 long years, and, you should had seen it, it acted like if it had never left!!

Off hand i'd say NO they dont forget.. thier brains are wired a little different than ours.. But they are easily geard for what they need to do as ours is... its just different.. nope he/she hasnt forgotten.. I'd bet $ on it...
Fallacy is humans have a bad habit to equate everything on a human experience... Umm STUPID HUMANS.. and thats a mistake...
By mans own(scientific) Criteria there are at least 2 (maybe more) more intelligent species on the planet than man.. yet.. Oh well you figure it out and do the hoem work.. theres yer start LOL

My dog has gone 5 1/2 months without seeing me, and always remembers me. He went 8 months without seeing my fiance, and he remembered him. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

One time I drove by our previous home--over a year after we had moved. I had my dog in the car with me and he knew where we were! He was sooo excited and going nuts! About a year after that, we drove by again, and he still remembered it! :)
