The best apple I have ever ate is called a sugar crisp apple. They are crisp and tart and sweet at the same time. I have ate almost every apple there is and this is the best. Don't know the particular brand they are but the are really big apples and are like a golden color with red and green color also. Look a lot like a Fuji apple but shinier and bigger and taste better. MIght be a different name for them also, this was the name they used at the store where I bought them.

Look for Fuji apples they are red they stay crisp without refrigeration

Any kind that you really like. I prefer Red delicious or Fuji for eating raw. Yhese are both red.

I would suggest a pink lady apple or a honeycrisp.
They are tart and yet sweet. Honeycrisp's are so crisp and delicious.
