It could be the pulley, but more likely the belt is worn and is loosening up ever so slightly, causing the noise. Try applying some Belt dressing. This stuff is very sticky and should be applied to the moving belt. Try not to overspray, a little goes a long way. It helps the belt get traction on the pulley and not slip. If this takes care of the problem, consider adjusting the pulleys, if not it could be the pulley that needs to replaced.

stay away from the belt dressing. it'll cause you more headaches in the long rung. !st make sure engine is turned off and then put some vaseline on the side of the belt that contacts the pulleys. when your done start it up. if the squeaks doesn't go away you probably have an idler bearing starting to go bad or possibly some of the items listed in the other posts

could be the belt is old, hard and cracked. could be there is dirt and debris in the bottom of the pulley grooves. could be an component alignment issue, if this is the case, one edge of the belt will be fraying like the hem on an old pair of jeans. you may have a combination of all 3.

sell it and purchase and Oldsmobile. j/ok I actual have an analogous variety of automobile as you. i might take it to a mechanic, verify which belt that's, replace it your self or have a chum do it, or notwithstanding if that's a serpentine belt or something, they adjust those at oil replace places. different than that, it might desire to be the rain. Belts might desire to turn in to big issues so i might have it appeared at.

Either it is loose, or very old and when they get old they get hard and get a slick surface and slip and squeal alot. Check to see if it is tight, and old or cracked and worn.
