feed them,diaper them when needed ,keep them clothed for the correct temps,keep them safe from any danger and most of all love them...

if you're unsure, you can always ask the parents of the child and see what they do, what they prefer, and how they handle certain things. it's always best to ask their preference, than going in unknowing and doing something wrong.
