Hey, I just ordered an Upgrade to Windows Vista Home Premium Edition for my Laptop (HP Pavillion DV6113US)
Should I look out for anything or does anybody have some tips or recommendations for me ?
I already ran the Windows Vista Scanner and it says I'm good to go Hardware wise.
Or any helpful advice or "user-testimonials" would be appreciated. Especially from HP Laptop owners like myself.
So far I've heard that
-Some Programs might not work
-Security pop-ups are annoying
If anybody has upgraded like I did, did it take up any extra space than you had before. Because my Hard Drive is dwon to 20Gb. So after I install it, wil I have more space ? Less ? The Same ?
Will it clear my Hard Drive ?
If it doesn't work out for me, will I be able to go back to my Windows Media Center Edition ?
THANX =D

I also have a free upgrade to Vista. I suggest to still continue using you XP until Vista gets more stable. I'm sure there are still a lot of bugs to it.
I'm going to wait first...

I have a ZV6000, amd 2.3ghz 64 bit processor. I'm running Vista with no problems what so ever, my crappy on board video works great with the desktop, areo enabled and all eye candy turned on.
Sure the security popup's are annoying, but day to day operations you wont see them unless your installing or removing something.
As far as programs... i've not found anything yet thats given me a problem. I beta tested vista from rc1 on up, and it's come along ways.
Word of advice though, Vista is hungry for memory. 512 minimum... 1 gig is optimal..
As for erasing your hard drive, I think you'll be able to do an upgrade.. just pop the disk in with the computer running and go from there. :)

"just a piece of advise had windows vista had to erase my hard drive and start fresh with old system because windows vista was a piece of crap lots of pop ups made my computer run so slow "
- Zebra
The pop up are lowered than RC1 and RC2. Know u get pop u when u are trying to do any thing to system files + turning Anti-virus off.

Vista will no doubt be like every other Windows OS. If your willing to assist Microsoft in working the bugs out (without compensation) and won't mind downloading a continuous stream of ''upgrades'' (I guess they can't call them ''F**K UP FIXERS'') then by all means, go for it. I think I'll wait a while and see what happens. XP PRO will suffice for now!

The first thing you should do is back up all the files you want to keep, then start over with a clean hard drive, and load the files you want to keep onto it.

your hard drive is a might small, you need at least 2gigs of ram, cpu should be 2.4 or duel core at least, graphics should have 256mb cache. once in, thats it. also i've never heard of an upgrade working as well, as the whole windows system would.
