I am a pale face living in CANADA!
I have a few friends in the USA mainland and a few in Hawaii who are the same colour as King was.
NONE OF THEM Worship Martin L. King.
Like me, they recognize him as a LEADER who was needed at his time!
NO MORE!
(PS ==ALL of the people I mention are TRUE CHRISTIANS!)

MLK was a great man. There has not been a greater american in over 200 years... not George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abe Lincoln.
I dont know how old you are but in the middle 1960's there was fierce violence and fires all over the cities and riot and more riots. The blacks were fed up being treated less than.... MLK halts the violence be a call to civil action and the rest is history. I do believe most who adore Martin Luther King also worship Jesus... THEY DO NO WORSHIP the REV. KING!!! They love and respect him and they are GRATEFUL for him.
What he did was in Jesus's name.

Dr. Martin Luther King was a peaceful protester for civil rights. He was loved by people of all races, but was assassinated by the prejudice, bigoted, jerks who were against equal rights for all.
African-American people do not worship him rather than Jesus--most do worship Jesus. They are saddened by the horrid ending that came to this wonderful man, but do not consider him God. They praise Dr. King for all of his good works in the civil rights movement, and mourn his tragic end. He was a wonderful speaker, and a truly good man.

First of all I never heard of any black people worshipping Martin Luther King. And that is his name, not a title. MLK was a great leader and did a lot for his people and black people still do worship Jesus Christ. wow, what misunderstanding!
btw I'm white

Why do Catholics worship the pope? Why do Lutherans worship Martin Luther? Why do Reform Church members worship John Calvin?
C'mon! Get real! M.L. King was a Christian and so are his followers. They just believe that religion is about more than sitting in church praying.

I used to really admire Martin Luther King but I have been doing some investigations and my opinion about him has slightly changed. Dont get me wrong I still thank God that Martin Luther King helped change things in this world for us non-whites but I question very strongly his character and whether he was truly a christian. CUT AND PASTE THIS to see this web page http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Wolves/mlk_jr-exposed.htm

I think you already have answered your own question and don't really care what we have to say on the subject.
Martin L. King was a MAN who wanted to help his brothers and sisters and did just that and nothing more. I don't ever remembering his claiming to be a GOD or SON OF GOD, just a man who believed in God and was a good Cristian.
King was his last name not his title and he never claimed to be A KING. One can't blame his followers and people for respecting him and for what he has done for them.
