Are there any surveys like this available? I'd be interested to know what the soldiers think of the war in Iraq, and whether or not they think we should stay, or leave.

Of course no soldier wants to be in Iraq! But there are very few that think we should just pick up and leave. What civilians dont understand is that a soldier completes his/her mission. They dont give up or quit just because ppl back home dont understand what there mission is. And the mission is securing Iraq.
Alot of what people dont understand either is what soldiers do there. I ask alot of people if they know what we do there. And no one knows. But they know, how much people feel about it.
people need to understand that the information that they get, is not what really happens there. Its what the news wants you to see, the media forms your opinion for you. It is very biased!!! They dont tell you what we do there. How things are changing and have changed. People make more money, they have running clean water, they are able to afford a car now, they make more money. You dont hear that and it makes me mad!!!

Any service member would rather be at home. Also in every conflict the US has been engaged in there is a percentage of those who will dissent or disagree with policies. What makes Iraq interesting is a majority are dedicated to their service thus frustrating the anti war groups who wish for a Vietnam era military to back their reliving that era.

Even though there are no official studies and battling political agendas will always skew any numbers to reach a audience or their base. One gage is to look at re-enlistment rates, and once again can be skewed according to who's agenda, but are still high and branches have meet number projections.

Surveys or polls only mean as much as the intent of the asker and how the questions are worded and reported. It's very subjective.

Although we shouldn't leave Iraq. I bet 100% rather be at home than in Iraq.

Soldiers don't take polls about what they think should be going on in the government... they execute their orders.
