My next door neighbor has been acting really weird ever since I have lost my dog she never talks to me and when the day he got lost she was the one who told me that my dog was missing. I don't keep my dog in the backyard and so I how would she know he went missing?

Hi,
Go and look at her car. It sounds like she may have run over your dog and hasn't got the courage to tell.

That's why she knows it's missing.

From the bottom of my heart, I hope I am wrong.

Call the cops and if they don't help, call your local animal control. One of those offices should be able to help and see if your pet is next door.

Another option is to sneak around your neighbors house when they aren't home and try calling for your dog and listen for a repsonse from inside the house. That would almost be a better option and have more foundation for when you call the cops. Keep your eyes pealed for late night potty breaks too in case they take it out at night.

Or the other option, not to worry you, is maybe your neighbor didn't like your dog and somehow got a hold of it and took it to animal control or the humane shelter. Get on the phone!!!!

Did you file a police report on your dog being stolen? If you think he was stolen not a run away you should then tell him your neighbors told you he was missing they will go ask her for information. Is it possible you have treated your neighbor in a manner that makes her uncomfortable so that you feel she is responsible when shes not?You could also ask your neighbour if they saw anything suspect near your house strange car etc.Usually the one you suspect isnt the one who did it.

what you should do is about the time you know your dog is hungrey or wants to go out to the bathroom, scream your dogs name, and widley ( act like your not) circle around the house and then ring the door bell and ask them if they have seen your dog, and to "watch" out for anyone who might have taken it, and take a look inside when shes not paying attention and look for anything that looks like there could have been a dog there, like newspaper ont he floor (they might not let the dog out during the day), food bowls, crate, dog food, toys and ect.

also say that you are going to call the police when you get home, and file a missing report on the dog, bc it is stolen property if someone took it. and smile and act like you dont suspect her, and show that you are sad about your dog missing. and then she might be a little scared. please update me about your doggie. also she might have gotton rid of it, and took it to the pound, check newspapers, vet offices, shelters, pounds, resuces in a 2 county radius, even if she didnt take it, dont focus all your trouble on her, maybe she didnt take it ,and you need to take some action! I HOPE YOU FIND YOUR BABY!

Call the police and report your dog as missing and tell them that you think your neighboor may have taken him. They will have an officer come out and ask the person if they can go inside just to check and if she says no they will force their way in. I hope your dog is safe and i hope you find him soon!
Good luck!

Call the police or the sherriffs office let them come out, stand outside the door and holler your dogs name and whistle and shout as loud as you can for her/him to come to you, she may have sold the dog if it is a "good" kind, people are ruthless for money....did she/he have tags? Place an ad in the paper, in case someone just happens to have bought a new dog like it!

Make a police report of the missing dog. Most departments will treat this as a stolen property report. If you truly believe that she may be responsible, let the ofcr know and name her as a possible suspect or witness. The investigator will know the best, most tactful way of handling this type of crime. If all else fails, set up surveillance for night-time poo poo doggie sightings. I mean, the dog has to go to the bathroom sometime and somewhere outside!

IF you don't leave your dog outside, how did someone steal him/her? Did someone break into your house and kidnap him/her? I would ask the neighbor if she saw someone near your house the day they took the dog. Did you call the police?
