There is no such thing as harmless bleach. It´s bleach, for God´s sake. ;)
Whatever you do, I would always advice you to have a professional bleach your hair. Dying your hair darker is always less dangerous in terms of what might go wrong, lightening it up is more difficult.
So: it´s the hairdresser for you. They basically use the same kind of bleach, but they´re been trained to do it. They know how to do it in a way that causes minimal damage to your hair. =)

Hi Ya
It dos'nt matter what type of bleach you use it damages your hair. You should only get this done by a proffesional. Why you may ask well do you know the cream you put on your legs to dissolve the hair, yes immac? has bleach content. The same thing could happen to the hair on your head (same bleach )if you over process with bleach at best you will be left with tiny stumps. Your scalp could end up burned badley. Please go to a salon

Hope this helps

It's bleach... they all damage your hair. Bleaching you hair once or twice isn't gonna damage it that bad though... maybe just a little more coarse and dry and stuff. Some developers have added conditioners, sooo that might help. but if your hair bothers you after you bleach it... then you could just get a good deep conditioner to make it softer and more managable. Bleaching you hair yourself isn't really that hard... I got my hair professionally done once and i will never do it again... 50 dollars for something i could do for $6, and get it exaclty the way i want... i don't think so. Good Luck.

Lots of products lighten without damage.the damage comes from improper usage of products. Depending on your target color i.e. your final result, hair only need to be a few shades lighter. If you want shocking pink, yes, you would need to blkeach your head up to a "Gwen Stefani" level of blonde.Cranberry would call for you to bleach up to a yellow.Citrus orange, you would bleach your hair to a gold level. ALWAYS,ALWAYS, after shampoo and conditioning apply a small baby teardrop of condionter back into hair conmb through and leave in. Not on your scalp, only BABY TEARDROP amount, starting at the ends and work up. This has leave it to a professional all over it.

Go directly to your hairdresser, if you do it your self you will most likely damage your hair and end up with orange clown hair. The hairdresser is the safest option they will do it for you and let you know if it is even a good idea to do. When you are looking at lightening your hair ask around and see who other people suggest to go to sometimes just going to your usual hairdress isn't a good idea as they may not specialise in colour. good luck
