well dogs have seizures for many different reasons depending on the circumstances your pet may have epilepsy. my dog has the same problem it started about when she turned 2 and had gotten so bad she had them every week. she is now on phenobarbital twice a day and as long as she keeps up on the meds she doesn't have seizures anymore.

take him to the vet find out whats wrong. Just make sure not to get anything in his way when it happens. Keep an eye on him for smaller seizures your vet will need to know if there are any. Also has eaten anything different or anything else that would have changed his regular schedule all this will help your vet.Sometimes these things are hard to diagnose you are your dogs only voice so do well by him.

YOu need to consult your veterinarian.
There are several reasons for seizures and a lot have to do with age.
A young dog most likely has Epilepsy. This is treatable by giving Phenobarbitone (and sometimes also Epibrom).
An aged dog could be Epilepsy, brain or liver tumour or stroke.
Seizuring is often seen more around the full moon.
If your dog is an Epileptic once it is on medication, you will need to watch its weight (phenobarb tends to make them hungry) so put your dog on a restricted calorie food (they also have a tendency to pancreatitis due to the medication so low fat is preferable).
Hope tis has helped

TAKE HIM TO THE VET. My guess is that he has epilepsy.
A lot of dogs develop it. They can give them medicine to stop the seizures. The medicine is expensive and they need to have it every day. A month's supply of phenobarbitol (which is usually prescribed ) costs over $100.00 plus vet bills.
Untreated, the seizures may kill him.
If you can't afford the dog's meds or vet care. Talk to your vet.
They may be willing to work out a payment plan. If not, they may suggest that you euthanise the dog.
As sad and awful as it sounds, it may be in your pet's best interest.

Take him to a vet. Find out the cause and possibly medication would prevent further seizures.

we had a dog that had seizures, sometimes severe. Its very scary. the vet said to do nothing unless they were frequent 3-4 times a month. she only had 2-3 a year. i would just hold her and try to comfort her until it passed. there is medication if they are frequent.

Take him to the vet. Seizures are not uncommon especially for small breeds. There is medication you can give your dog to control the seizures.
One healthy remedy is to give him 100% Norweigian Kelp. You can get it at health food stores or on-line.

i would watch your dog. just to make sure that it doesn't happen again. if it does then i would take your dog in, and explain to the vet that he had a seizure. they should be able to help your dog. good luck and hopefully your dog will be better soon

Are these questions REAL???! HELLO!!! If YOU had a seizure last night... what would you want someone to do for YOU? Send an inquiry HERE... or be a responsible pet owner and call your vet LAST NIGHT!!!? Get real! IS THE DOG STILL ALIVE? OR did he die waiting for you to get answers here? For heavens sake... GET RESPONSIBLE! Or give your dog to someone who will actually look after it. Good grief! I hope you don't have kids!

A seizure can have a number of causes, epilepsy, diabetes or something he/she ate. Your vet needs to do the appropriate tests. Take baby to the doctor.
