Basically, Ive just made a nice coffee cake with butter icing and i went a bit over board putting in some baileys which has watered it down a tad. What can I put in to make it thicker? I know there is an ingrediant like baking powder or flour or something, but can't remember what! Thanks!! xxx

Powered sugar works really good but if you want just a little bit different flavor try some flour just a bit thickens it up and gives it a great, different flavor I use it all the time.

yes, icing sugar. Icing Sugar is very fine powder sugar specially designed for icing & baking requirements. It contains 1.5-3% cornstarch to prevent caking.

Just add more powdered sugar, a little at a time. Flour is for thickening sauces for meats and potatoes.

I have to go with everyone else. Some powered sugar will thicken it. Add it a lil at a time so it doesn't get to thick. If that happens where it does get to thick for your preference try adding a tablespoon of milk.

I think I'd use 10x powdered sugar, it is the finest, and if you sift it first before you add it by the tablespoon at a time, then it won't be lumpy...ought to work! Good luck and save me a bite!

Icing sugar will thicken it. One table spoon at a time add and stir. When it is thick enough stop.

Can I have some cake? Lol.

If you're worried about the icing being too sweet, you could add meringue powder.
