Im a guy and have somewhat long hair, not super long, on the sides its about an inch from my jaw and in the back it goes to the bottom of my neck. Would it be girly/gay if i straightened it just a little? If not, what are the proper techniques for straightening? I dont think its gay, my ex gf used to love to do mine haha

Nah if you have to use to make you look attractive then do it just remember to cut your hair when is too long

oh course its not girly i know plenty of guys that straighten their hair. depending on what u want your ending result to be you can leave it straight down, or flip it out a little bit on the ends. also start straighting from the bottom back go up and then do the side, also make sure you get a one inch straightner, CHI's are awesome, but you can you any brand you like just make sure that it has tourmaline ceramic in it, so the heat wont damage your hair

Hair is hair. You can use straighteners or colors or whatever you want.
A straightener is basically a perm. It is a perm, but instead of curling your hair while it is setting, you will brush it straight and try to keep it that way during the process. You'll brush it every few minutes until it is time to rinse.

yep you sure can and no its not gay!!! if you do straighten your hair start at the top and when you get near the end you want to kind of lift it to where its like a straight horizon from the roots kind of like ____________ this line that way it doesnt let your hair die at the ends and it keeps it healthier longer

yup..i no loads of guys who straighten their hair..and not just a LITTLE they COMPLETELY do it...
i have really curly hair but when i want a little less volume but to keep the curls i pass the straightener over my hair just a little and the volume goes away
